In 2018 I dared to try writing in the living room (hence the name “Janssen Writing Room”). (Strictly speaking, in the beginning I spent most of my time sitting at our computer on the gallery of the stairwell).
I've often been asked where I find the time: family with four small children, work, house, garden, animals... Well, I can only say that my knowledge of current television programs hasn't necessarily improved since I I started my first book project. Is that a loss?
And: It takes more than one person to write a book; It takes more than the strength, knowledge and ideas of the person who ultimately types the letters into the computer (see "Thank you!").
The person typing right now is me:
Torsten Janssen, born in 1975, happily married, father of four. Original East Frisians, Rheiderlanders, nature-loving cyclists and footballer in various forms. Social worker, hobby programmer and lover of unusual books. Music lover (active and passive) and cosmopolitan Christian with a wide heart for people who think differently, their beliefs and ideas.
It is certainly no coincidence that my first attempts at writing have to do with the Netherlands on the one hand and, on the other hand, deal with the most terrible and consequential episode in German history. More on this at a later date under “Projects”.
The following books were and are very helpful when writing the first novel and beyond:
Robert Bach, Fabian Walden
